Research breakthrough as US researchers discover common cause of MND

A breakdown of a recycling system in cells appears to be the underlying cause of ALS/MND. Although we have known for some time that the waste and recycling system in motor neurones is damaged in people diagnosed with ALS/MND this is the first time that there has been direct proof.
