How will my donation be spent?
Donations to MND Australia: MND Australia is the national voice of people with motor neurone disease, their families and the countless others affected by the disease. Through our national advocacy activities, your donation will help to ensure their voices are heard by the government on the issues that matter: disability support and services, palliative care, aged care, support for carers and research funding. The diagnosis of motor neurone disease can be devastating and people with MND and their families need access to the highest quality information. Your donation will also enable us to produce national publications and online resources that are crucial for informing people at every stage of the disease, as well as the health professionals who care for them. MND Australia is a Health Promotion Charity and is registered with the Australian Charities and not-for-profits Commission. ABN – 52 650 269 176, ARBN – 609051792
Donations to MND Research Australia: Research is the only way that we can change the future of MND. Like you, we want to maximise the impact of your donation, so you can be assured that every dollar of your gift will be invested in research with the best chance of understanding the causes, developing effective treatments and finding a cure for MND. Every research grant that we award has been scrutinised and endorsed by the experts on the MND Australia Research Committee to ensure that our supporters’ donations fund only the best groundbreaking research. MND Research Australia is a Health Promotion Charity and is registered with the Australian Charities and not-for-profits Commission. ABN – 46 789 710 580
What is the difference between MND Australia and MND Research Australia?
MND Research Australia is the research arm of MND Australia. The two organisations operate as one, with MND Research Australia focused solely on funding our research grants program. This set up has been in place since 2010, when MNDRA (also known as the MND Research Institute of Australia) amalgamated operationally with MND Australia.
MND Australia is the national voice of people living with MND, their families and the countless others affected by the disease, and advocates on behalf of all of these people.
As the research arm of MND Australia, MND Research Australia functions as the national MND research organisation within the network of MND Associations that includes MND Australia, MND Research Australia and the six state MND Associations. As well as funding research and representing the state MND Associations on research matters, MND Research Australia also advocate with government and represent Australia on international bodies such as the Pan-Asian Consortium for Treatment and Research in ALS (PACTALS) and the International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations.

Are there fees associated with donating online?
When you donate online, a very small fee is deducted from your payment. While it is frustrating that fees are taken at the point of donation, the fees are minimal and result in a significant saving to MND Australia/MND Research Australia staff time. When you donate online, your receipt is immediately and automatically generated and staff are ‘hands off’ in this process. When donations are made via other channels, MND Australia/MND Research Australia has to invest time in manual receipting. We consider these online donation fees a good investment overall. Donating online is a safe and efficient way to support the work of MND Australia and MND Research Australia.
What is your privacy policy? How will my donation information be stored?
