We are delighted to announce $3.32 million contributed by MNDRIA and $1.75 million contributed by Cure for MND Foundation for grants commencing in 2016. That makes a total of $5.07 million awarded for three 3-year fellowships and 33 grants-in-aid.

MNDRIA allocates a record $5.07 million to MND research in 2016

The Motor Neurone Disease Research Institute of Australia (MNDRIA) has allocated a record $5.07 million for MND research in 2016. Announced at the MND Australia Research Meeting 2015, MNDRIA will provide $3.32 million with an additional $1.75 million to contributed by the Cure for MND Foundation.

Professor Steve Vucic awarded Australian Academy of Science's prestigious Gottschalk Medal

Professor Steve Vucic has been awarded the Gottschalk Medal at the 2016 Australian Academy of Science awards for his pioneering research revealing processes that can trigger MND. Professor Vucic is the Director of Neurophysiology at Westmead Hospital in Sydney and a member of the MNDRIA Research Committee

Research committee has begun assessing grant applications

The MND Research Institute of Australia's (MNDRIA) Research Committee has begun assessing applications for research grants commencing in 2016. The race for researchers to lodge their applications to MNDRIA for funding for 2016 ended at 6pm on 28th August. The final tally is:
