People diagnosed with a disability aged 65+ cannot access the NDIS: MND Australia calls for an end to this age discrimination

The introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) has brought many positive changes for Australians living with a disability: most people can now access NDIS funding for the care, equipment and services they need. However, one group of Australians is missing out – those diagnosed with a disability when aged 65 or over.

MNDRIA PhD top-up grant applications now open

The MNDRIA PhD Scholarship Top-up Grant is awarded as an incentive to an outstanding PhD student. The grant will provide a $5,000 per annum stipend for a PhD candidate, for a maximum of three years and commencing in 2020.

Applications will be accepted from PhD students who have been awarded a full PhD scholarship for biomedical or public health research in motor neurone disease. The applicant must be an Australian citizen or Australian resident. The applicant has not received PhD top-up funding from other sources.
